Resources

This page offers a selection of resources I have found to be helpful to my clients over the years. The links below are meant to offer information, perspective, and support as you explore what may be relevant to your own experience.

Low Mood and Depression

Low mood and depression can show up in many ways. For some, it feels like persistent sadness or emptiness. For others, it may look like loss of interest, fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating, or a sense of disconnection from themselves and the world around them.

While both men and women experience depression, the symptoms often manifest differently. For example, women often exhibit internal symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbances and emotional fragility; whereas men tend to externalize symptoms through outbursts of anger, reckless behaviour, substance use and withdrawal.

These experiences can arise in response to life events, relationship struggles, or ongoing stress, but they can also emerge without a clear cause. Depression is not a sign of weakness or failure. It is often a signal that something within needs care and attention.

Anxiety and Worry

Anxiety and worry are common responses to stress, uncertainty, and change. They may show up as racing thoughts, physical tension, difficulty sleeping, or a constant sense of being on edge.

While anxiety can be a natural reaction to life’s demands, it can also become more persistent and begin to shape how a person thinks, feels, and relates. In addition to easing anxious feelings, this work often focuses on understanding their underlying drivers.

Intimate Relationships

Intimate relationships play a central role in emotional life. They can be a source of connection, support, and meaning, but they can also bring conflict, misunderstanding, and deep vulnerability.

Challenges in close relationships often reflect patterns shaped by past experiences, expectations, and ways of protecting oneself. Exploring these dynamics can help people better understand their needs, communicate more openly, and move toward relationships that feel more secure and fulfilling.

Grief and Loss

Grief can take many forms. It often follows the death of someone we love, including a partner, family member, friend, or pet. It may also arise after other kinds of losses, such as the end of a relationship, changes in health, career shifts, or the loss of a sense of identity or future we once imagined.

Grief is not just sadness. People often experience it as longing, anger, numbness, confusion, or a sense that the world no longer feels familiar.
